The Serenity Place project is a great success! The grand opening for the 19-unit affordable housing complex for low income single women and families was held on October 25, 2007. The building has a secured key entrance, lobby area, lounge, computer room, community room and laundry facilities. Each apartment includes one or two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen with new appliances, storage space, full bathroom, and beautiful large windows and high ceilings. Serenity Place was at full resident capacity by December 27, 2007. Marian House is fulfilling its mission as a place of refuge where previously homeless women can grow, plan, and pursue their dreams. We thank our partner, Homes for America, and all supporters for their help in making this an ongoing reality.
Pastor James Thornton of the United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic, offered the dedication blessing for Serenity Place on October 25, 2007. |
