Marian House is pleased to announce the appointment of Joscelyn Truitt, LMSW, as its new President & Chief Executive Officer. Truitt will join Marian House’s leadership team on August 24.
As President & CEO, Truitt will lead the vision, strategy, and operations of Marian House, serving as the organization’s chief ambassador while guiding its holistic, trauma-informed continuum of care for women and families in Baltimore. Truitt’s appointment reflects Marian House’s commitment to strengthening its operational infrastructure and expanding its reach at a pivotal moment in the organization’s history.
“Joscelyn brings the executive leadership and relationship-driven approach Marian House needs at this stage of our growth,” said Carrie Schreiber, Chair of Marian House’s Board of Directors. “She has a proven ability to lead complex, community-centered organizations, and her trauma-informed, equity-centered leadership style makes her an exceptional fit for Marian House. We are confident she will carry forward the charisms that our founding communities, the Sisters of Mercy and the School Sisters of Notre Dame, entrusted to this ministry.”
In her new role, Truitt will partner with the Board of Directors and staff to strengthen operational infrastructure, deepen donor and community relationships, and continue delivering transformative outcomes for the women and families Marian House serves.

About Joscelyn Truitt
Joscelyn Truitt is a nonprofit executive with nearly 15 years of experience advancing housing stability, homelessness prevention, and trauma-informed systems. She most recently served as Vice President of the Empowerment Division at RiseBoro Community Partnership in Brooklyn, NY, where she led a multi-program division spanning housing stability, rehousing, workforce development, and family support services, overseeing a $14M+ portfolio and a team of more than 130 staff.
Previously, Truitt served as Director of Programs & Community Partnerships at the NYC Mayor’s Office to End Domestic & Gender-Based Violence, where she directed operations and strategic partnerships for the city’s busiest Family Justice Center. She began her career with the World Bank Group and the Children of Kibera Foundation and holds an MSW from Fordham University and a BSW from New York University. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and is relocating to the Baltimore area to take on the role.
